If you are missing out on some of the features that you enjoy on your Facebook desktop version and want to enjoy the same on your mobile device then opening the desktop version on your mobile phone is the best that you can do.

You should know that if you are using the desktop version on your mobile device then some of the features and functions might be different from the actual Facebook as it was on the desktop. You will notice that the alignment of the menu bar on your Facebook Timeline is slightly different from how it appears exactly on your computer.

Note: As Facebook developed over the years; now, opening the desktop version on your phone might definitely lack some features permanently which means you could not have this same and exact interface on your mobile device.

To open the Facebook desktop site on your mobile device (Android), you have to use KiWi Browser. There, you will get an option to request the desktop site, and then you can open facebook.com/home.php.

For iOS devices, you can open your Safari browser and open facebook.com > go to browser settings and then tap on Request Desktop Site to open the Facebook desktop version on your iPhone.

In this article, we have tested all these methods and will represent every step with a guide to open your desktop version on your phone.

How To Open Facebook Desktop Version On Mobile Devices:

If you are on any type of mobile device either iPhone or Android you can follow some simple methods that we have mentioned below with all the steps and same you have to follow in order to do it from your end.

How To Open Facebook Desktop Version On Android:

For Android devices, we have mentioned two methods Google Chrome and Kiwi Browser.

1. Chrome:

If you are using Google Chrome on your mobile devices then there is an option you will see on your browser ‘Desktop Site’ Clicking on it you need to open facebook.com and the desktop version will appear on your screen.

But honestly, this does not show the exact Facebook interface, this just makes changes in the alignment of the features on the Facebook interface. Although it may not be beneficial if you want the exact Desktop version on your phone still we have mentioned simple steps:

Step 1: Open the Google Chrome browser from your home screen.

Step 2:  Now open Facebook on your Google Chrome browser by typing facebook.com on the address bar.

Step 3: If you are not logged in, just log in with your Facebook credentials. Once you are logged in, now the final thing that you will need to do.

Step 4: On the Facebook timeline just look for the three dots icon on the top right corner of your screen and just tap on it.

Step 5: Now from there you will see an option ‘Desktop Site’,  just tap on it and the page will start refreshing to open the desktop version of your Facebook.

Now here is one thing you should verify at the address bar, it is www.facebook.com, If you see m.facebook.com then just replace it with www.facebook.com and reload the page.

That’s all you have done switching from the Facebook desktop version to the mobile version.

2. KiWi Browser

If you are using Android then the best option that we recommend is using by KiWi browser. This is chromium-based bouncers like Yandex and the best part of it is that such browsers support extensions.

Using this KiWi browser you can open the Facebook desktop version on your Android device just by following three simple steps:

Step 1: First of all, open third-party KiWi Browser from the Google Play Store.

Step 2: Then open the browser type www.facebook.com and log in with your Facebook credentials.

Step 3:  Once it opens your Facebook Timeline you will see the desktop version is loaded onto the Browser. Make sure the web version is enabled on this KiWi browser to open the desktop mode.

How To Open Facebook Desktop Version On iOS:

If you are on your iOS then there is only a browser that we recommend to open the Facebook desktop version from your iPhone or iPad, which is Safari.

Step 1: On your iPhone open the Safari browser and on the address bar type to open www.facebook.com and log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Once you are logged in on the top left corner you will see a rectangular box icon just tap on it then tap on the dots icon. Here tap on the ‘Request Desktop Website’ option to open the Facebook desktop version.

Step 3: There is an additional setting under the Website settings for Facebook, and you can use the option by turning it on too.

Step 4: Now it will end up presenting to the desktop version of your Facebook timeline. Just on the address bar make sure it is www.facebook.com, if not then type it and reload the page again.

Note:

1. On your mobile device, if you want the desktop version of Facebook then the exact same interface you would not get.

2. As we see, there are only some alignment changes i.e. profile icon shifts to the middle and everything is aligned as fit to screen size.

3. Both iOS and Android have the same effect on the Chrome browser whereas the Chromium-based browsers work to an extent.

FAQ:

1. Why does it not work even when I Request a desktop site for the Facebook web version?

If you unable to see the exact desktop version on your mobile then you should know that the Facebook interface has developed to such an extent that it detects your device whenever you open it on your mobile and if you try to switch it to the web version and even your phone is on landscape mode, it will still show the mobile version itself. The settings which are explained in this article make some alignment changes to some extent and the rest of the features and functions stay as per the mobile version.

2. Why Can’t I access Facebook desktop mode on any browser?

If you can’t access Facebook desktop mode on your browser or it is not opening then there are issues with the network or DNS. If you use the same network connection on different devices and you can open Facebook without any issue then this issue is with your device.

To solve this issue, you can wait for a while and this problem might get automatically fixed or you can restart the network from where you were using the internet connection. Also, you can try clearing the cache from your browser.

3. How do you use Facebook mobile on a desktop?

If you want to use the Facebook mobile version on your desktop then this is very simple by using the inspect element option on your browser. You can use Chrome Browser open facebook.com and then log in with your credentials. Now right-click on the page and click on the ‘Inspect element’ option and this will open an interface from where you have to look for the desktop-mobile icon on the top. Once you click here just choose the screen dimensions 320 by 520 and then you can access the mobile version on your desktop.
